Why I like action/adventure movies
I chose the action/adventure genre because I enjoy the thrill and suspense of action/adventure films. In these types of films, the characters often go on adventures and explore. They typically come across antagonists and are forced to fight them, resulting in action as well. For example, one of my favorite movies, Jumanji (2017) exemplifies this. In the movie the four main characters go through the in-real-life video game of Jumanji. They are made to explore the area, solve riddles, and fight animals and men who are attacking them. While Jumanji is more of an adventure film, as the characters must find a new place on the map in order to advance to the next level, there is still a good amount of action present as well. The opening of Jumanji shows a backstory to how the game was found, showing the date “1996” at the bottom of the opening scene.
